A Busy Secular Autumn

There are a *lot* of up coming events

So I've recently started a new job meaning Secular Sheffield has had a big gap in its output. However, as I've now settled in, I'm going to try to make this a monthly email.

There are also some provisional details of the new(ish) Secular Social - a joint event from Sunday Assembly and Sheffield Humanists.

Here is a generic summary table of how this is going to work going forward:

Secular Social
Sun 12 Oct 11am-2pm
Venue TBC (likely Couch on Campo Lane)

We had trial Secular Social back in January last year. Sheffield Humanists and Sunday Assembly Sheffield are bringing it back! I’m still finalising plans with the venue but we’re hoping to hold it at Couch on Campo Lane.

Since going down to two-monthly events, many Sunday Assemblers have felt there’s a big gap between assemblies, particularly if you miss one. As organisers, we don’t have the time to organise 10-12 assemblies in the year so the Secular Social gives us all a chance to meet up between assemblies to live better, help often and wonder more in each other’s company.

As the relatively newly appointed Events Lead for Sheffield Humanists, I’ve been looking to organise events that are not just in a pub in the evening. This can exclude certain groups of people which I don’t want to do.

As such, both groups have joined forces (or more honestly, I’m on the committee for both so we’re doing it). We’re both like-minded groups and it would be great to see us all together. I hope you’ll join me!
